The second largest port city in the country, Fukuoka, has been officially recognized as a National Strategic Special Zone. Now, it intends to establish itself as the center of a nation that embraces all things Web3 and cryptocurrencies.</p><p>Both organizations will be able to collaborate on brand new Web3 technology use cases thanks to the Astar Japan Labs alliance. Fukuoka is one of more than 45 businesses that Astar works with, along with Microsoft Japan and Amazon Japan. This new development comes after a rushed correction to the cryptocurrency and Web3 markets in Japan.</p><p>The country has been lauded for having some of the strictest rules around cryptocurrencies, which could reduce their appeal. However, it also recently relaxed a set of rules governing the launch of new currencies on accredited exchanges. The Japanese prime minister said in a speech on October 3, the Japanese government plans to make significant investments in Web3 and efforts to support the metaverse.</p><p>Recently, the government has used NFT to reward local officials.</p>
